Cinnamon Nutella Cake
This is one of my favourite cake recipes, it is really nice for the winter and is especially good with a cup of tea.
You will need:
175g butter, softened
175g golden caster sugar
3 eggs
200g self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
3 tsp ground cinnammon
4 tbsp milk
4 heaped tbsp Nutella (or a cheaper brand)
50g hazelnuts, roughly chopped
1. Preheat the oven to 180 C , butter and line the base of a 2cm round tin.
2. Put the butter, sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder, cinnamon + milk into a bowl and mix until light and fluffy.
3. Put 3/4 of the mixture into the tin, then dollop on the Nutella, finish by pouring on the rest of the mixture and sprinkling with the hazelnuts.
4. Bake for 50 mins until it has risen, is nicely browned and firm to the touch.
(Cover with foil if it is browning too quickly)

Lately la la at Le Motel
Last night my lovely Swedish friend Sara played at Le Metro in the 11th. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday evening; music, beer and great people in a cosy bar:

449.27 miles apart.
My great friend Anna and I have always loved doodling and writing notes to each other, so since we moved apart last year we have kept a book and posted it back and forth between; London and Brighton, Glyfa (Fthiotis) and Brighton, now Paris and Brighton. It is always such a nice surprise to receive it in the mail and its great how we have documented a busy year through pictures, photos, words. Today I finished the last page and so bought a new, fancy green book for us to start again. Anna you will be receiving it soon!

Samedi soir
Saturday night started with lots of red wine and pasta at mine with Yacine and Filip.
There were boyfriends with real mustaches,
and friends with pretend ones.
We then went to a birthday party in the 9th, where a couple had a bath. I drank a lot and ate a lot of cake, then at 6am we walked back across Paris with a coke bottle filled with vodka and cranberry, this was not a good idea as Sunday was spent in bed feeling very poorly.

Oui? Non?
Today I am happy to have sweet friends who make homemade cards, to feel the sunshine for the first time in weeks and to use the beautiful tea pot my best friend bought me at Christmas.
Today I am not happy that I was awkward during the trial for a job as a journalist's assistant but all I can do now is drink tea and wait for a response, oh and look at Marc Johns drawings, especially the ones on post-its (Post-it est un nom de marque utilisé comme synonyme de pense-bête, papillon adhésif ou papillon), they make me happy too.
