A dinner chez Guillemette

Saturday night we had dinner at Guillemette's pretty new flat. She made us Paté et baguette, Piperade et parma ham followed by crèpes. Super nice to spend an evening with girls I have missed very much.
Near the end of the evening Rickie found a picture of her boyfriend in a cookbook; "Liam! What are you doing in this book?" she cried.

"In the late afternoon, the beach was full of orange sun and there were lots of white clouds and everything smelled of potato and onion omelette.
And there were crabs that hid among the rocks, and we children were put in charge of burying the bottles of cider in the damp sand to keep them cool.
And everyone said: 'What a glorious afternoon', and the young couples sat apart from the rest of us, and when it began to grow dark and everything was lilac and purple, they would sit very silently with their faces pressed close, as if in confession."
